How to get to Sport-Med
Sport-Med is in Stockport Town Centre, with easy access off Junction 1 of the
M60 ring road.
The Physiotherapy practice is just off the main road through Stockport,
the A6 (or Wellington Road South), almost opposite the Grand Central Leisure
Complex pedestrian way.
Directions and information about parking is given below but maps and directions
can be easily downloaded from this site with the following links, or if you
phone us we can fax or post these to you.

Directions to Sport-Med
From the M60
Take junction 1 off the M60 at the Kings Valley Pyramid.
Follow signs for Town Centre/Grand Central Leisure from motorway roundabout.
Go straight over at traffic lights keeping in left-hand lane as you pass
under motorway.
At the roundabout take the second exit onto Heaton Lane in front of
Kwik-fit. At the end of Heaton Lane you meet the A6 at traffic lights.
Turn right up the hill to follow signs for Grand Central.
Pass through a further two sets of traffic lights (McDonalds at second set).
After the second set of lights take the next turning on your left between
the Royal Bank of Scotland and The Fone Shop to bring you onto Norbury Street.
We are situated next door to the mobile phone shop. There is a large sign over
our premises.
Parking
There is generally ample parking on Norbury Street and around the Town Hall area
which operates pay and display parking bays, which are generally used for short
term stays and so are usually continually becoming vacant. You will need 70p
for one hour, Ł1 for two hours or Ł1.50 for three hours for the Pay and Display
machines. The parking wardens are very strict.There is an NCP underground car
park 40 metres down the road or the larger Grand Central Car Park on the other
side of the main road.
From Hazel Grove
Travelling along the A6 towards Stockport Town Centre. As you approach the
Town Hall turn right off the A6 onto Edward Street. (No right turn off A6 onto
Norbury Street).
Take the first left onto Piccadilly and next left again onto Norbury Street.
We are situated at the far end on the left. There is a large sign over our
premises.
Trains
There is an excellent train service from Central Manchester and from South
Manchester in to the heart of Stockport. The station is adjacent to the
Grand Central Leisure Complex. It is just a two or three minute walk from the
station, through the pedestrian way and across the main road to Sport-Med.
Buses
There are regular buses along the A6 with bus stops very close to the
Sport-Med Clinic. Please refer to you local service provider to find details of
bus timetables.
Directions to Ryley Mount Consulting Rooms and
Norfolk House Radiology (x-rays)
Ryley Mount and Norfolk House are next to each other some three to four miles
out of Stockport on the Main road A6 towards Hazel Grove, and are situated just
before the turn off for Stepping Hill Hospital on Poplar Grove.
From the Sport-Med clinic turn left up the A6 and through the traffic lights
at the Town Hall. Continue up the A6 through a further four sets of traffic
lights.
As you approach the fifth set keep right to make a right turn as if going into
Stepping Hill Hospital. You will have to make a 'U' turn in Poplar grove or in
the hospital bus terminus and then turn left back on yourself onto the A6.
Ryley mount is the second building on the left and Norfolk House the third.
Parking spaces are at the rear.
